Ghosted – Child Safety Standards

Published 14 September 2026 by Disket France, operator of Ghosted.

In one breath

Ghosted is an adults-only dating app. We do not tolerate any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation, we remove anyone under 18, we report illegal content to the authorities, and a named person answers for it.

1 - Who this applies to

These standards apply to the Ghosted app on iOS and Android and to the ghosted.co website, operated by Disket France, SAS, 67 rue d'Aboukir, 75002 Paris, France. They complete our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy.

2 - Zero tolerance

We prohibit, without exception, child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), whether real, drawn or generated by AI; sexualised depictions of minors; grooming, meaning any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes; sextortion; trafficking; and any solicitation of, or interest expressed in, minors. This applies to profiles, photos, prompts, messages, voice notes and anything else shared through Ghosted.

3 - Adults only, and how we enforce it

  • Every member declares a date of birth at sign-up; anyone under 18 cannot create an account.
  • Our photo moderation and account signals flag profiles that appear to belong to minors. Flagged accounts are reviewed by a person and closed if we cannot reasonably believe the member is an adult; we may ask for proof of age.
  • Any adult who seeks out, sexualises or attempts to contact minors is banned permanently, on every account we can link to them.

4 - Reporting inside the app

Every profile and every chat has a report button. Reports mentioning a minor, child sexual content or grooming are placed at the top of the moderation queue and handled by a person as a priority, around the clock. Members can also write to hello@ghosted.co. Anyone, member or not, can contact our child safety point of contact directly (section 8).

5 - What we do with CSAM

When we identify apparent child sexual abuse material or exploitation, we: remove the content immediately; permanently close the account, without appeal; preserve the evidence as the law requires; and report it to the competent authorities, including the French platform for illegal content (PHAROS, internet-signalement.gouv.fr), the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) where US law applies, and law enforcement in the countries where we operate. We cooperate fully with lawful requests from those authorities.

6 - Prevention by design

  • Photos are checked before they are shown to anyone, for filters and AI but also for nudity and unsafe content.
  • Messages cannot be sent before a mutual match, which limits unsolicited contact.
  • Members can block anyone instantly and silently.
  • Moderators are trained on CSAE indicators and grooming patterns, and we review these standards at least once a year.

7 - Laws we comply with

Disket France complies with the laws on child protection that apply to it, including French criminal law (in particular articles 227-23 and 227-24 of the Code pénal), the EU Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and, for US users, 18 U.S.C. § 2258A on the reporting of apparent child sexual abuse material. We also follow the child safety policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
