Ghosted – Community Guidelines
Effective 14 September 2026. These Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.
In one breath
Be real, be an adult, be kind, keep it personal, and report what is not. Everything below is a longer way of saying that.
1 - Be real. Really.
Ghosted has one rule other apps do not: no filters. Your photos show you, as you look now, without beauty filters, face or body retouching, AI generation or AI editing. No ten-year-old photo, no photo of your sibling, no photo where you are one of six people and nobody knows which. Photos that fail the check are blurred or removed; keep uploading them and the account goes too.
The same honesty goes for the rest of your profile: your real first name, your real age, your real intentions. If you are in a relationship, say so before someone finds out.
2 - Adults only
You must be 18 or older. Never upload a photo of a minor, even yourself as a child, even your own kids. Anyone we believe to be under 18 is removed, and any adult who shows interest in minors is removed permanently and reported to the authorities. See our Child Safety commitments.
3 - One person, one account
You are the only person using your account, and it is your only account. No shared accounts, no couples' accounts, no accounts run on someone's behalf. If we close an account, creating a new one is a breach in itself.
4 - Keep your clothes on in public
Profiles are public to everyone who matches your preferences. No nudity, no underwear-only or sexually suggestive photos, no sexual content in bios or prompts. In a private chat, sexual content is only acceptable when both people clearly want it; sending an unsolicited explicit photo is harassment, and we treat it that way.
5 - Treat people like people
Someone not being interested is a complete answer. No harassment, insults, threats, bullying, stalking or humiliation, in the app or after. No sharing of screenshots of profiles or conversations to mock someone. No hate speech: attacking people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or body is out, whether in a message, a bio or a “preference”.
6 - No violence, no shock
No gore, weapons pointed at anyone, glorification of violence, terrorism or dangerous groups. No content promoting self-harm, suicide or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please talk to someone; in France, 3114 answers around the clock, and the app links to help lines in other countries.
7 - Keep it personal, not commercial
Ghosted is for meeting people, not customers. No advertising, no promoting a business, a brand, a crypto project or a “side hustle”. No pushing people to follow you on another app or to subscribe to paid content, whatever the platform. No prostitution, escorting or any exchange of intimacy for money or gifts, and nothing that comes close to human trafficking. Offering or asking for money, gifts or “investments” is a scam until proven otherwise, and we remove it.
8 - Protect privacy, yours and theirs
Do not put your phone number, address, workplace or social handles in your profile; share them in a chat when you are ready. Do not ask for other people's documents or financial details. Do not record, screenshot or share someone else's photos or messages outside the app without their consent, and never share intimate images of someone else. Doxxing and sextortion get a permanent ban and a report to the authorities.
9 - Stay legal
No selling or promoting drugs or weapons, no fraud, no content that infringes someone else's rights, nothing else the law forbids where you or the other person live.
10 - Do not game the app
No bots, scripts, unauthorised third-party tools or hacks. No mass liking, spam messages or copy-pasted openers to hundreds of people. No false reports to get someone removed. No trying to get around a ban.
11 - Off the app counts too
These guidelines apply to what happens between members after they match, including in real life. If someone who met you on Ghosted harms or threatens you, tell us; we act on off-app behaviour when it is reported to us with enough detail.
Reporting and blocking
On any profile or chat, tap the three dots to block (they will not know) or report. Every report is read by a person, usually within 24 hours, and reports involving minors or violence go first. You can also write to hello@ghosted.co. If you are in danger, call the local emergency services first (112 in the EU, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US).
What happens when someone breaks the rules
Depending on how serious it is, and whether it has happened before: the content is removed; the member gets a warning; some features are limited; the account is suspended; or it is closed for good, along with any other account the same person holds. Sexual content involving minors, threats of violence, sextortion and trafficking always lead to a permanent ban and, where the law requires, a report to the authorities. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the email we send you or write to hello@ghosted.co; a different person reviews the decision.
Thanks for keeping Ghosted real, respectful and fun.
